Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Eight Bells Studio (“we,” “us,” or “EvalEdge”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the EvalEdge mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Important — keep it unclassified. EvalEdge is for documenting unclassified personal accomplishments only. Do not enter classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), or operationally sensitive details. You are responsible for the content you log.

01 Information we collect

We collect only what the App needs to function:

Account information. The email address you use to create an account and authenticate.
Profile information. Details you choose to provide, such as paygrade/rank, rate, command type, and command-intent notes used to tailor your eval bullets.
Your content. The accomplishment entries you log and any AI-generated bullets created from them.
Limited technical data. Basic operational and diagnostic information needed to run and maintain the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train third-party AI models.

02 How we use your information

To create and manage your account.
To generate, store, and display your eval bullets and brag-sheet content.
To provide, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
To respond to your support requests.

03 AI processing & service providers

Your permission comes first. The App asks for your explicit permission before any of your content is sent to an AI provider. Until you agree, no accomplishment content is sent to Anthropic, and you can still log accomplishments manually with full functionality. You can withdraw this permission at any time in the App under Settings, AI and Data, which stops all AI processing of your content.

To deliver the App's core features, we share limited data with the following providers, who process it only to perform services for us:

Anthropic — the content you submit for bullet generation is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce eval bullets, and the text of your support requests may be processed by Claude to help us draft responses. It is processed to return your result and is not used to train Anthropic's models under our commercial terms.
Voyage AI — when you contact support, the text of your request may be processed to generate embeddings that help us retrieve relevant context and respond accurately. It is processed only to provide support and is not used to train Voyage's models under our terms.
Supabase — provides authentication and encrypted database storage for your account, profile, and content.

Each provider maintains its own security and privacy practices. We share the minimum necessary for these features to work.

04 Data storage & security

Your data is stored in a secured cloud database protected by access controls and row-level security so that you can access only your own records. Data is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

05 Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we are required to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

06 Your rights & choices

Access & correction. You can view and edit your profile and entries within the App at any time.
AI processing consent. You choose whether AI features are on. Grant or withdraw permission at any time in Settings, AI and Data. Withdrawing stops your content from being sent to AI providers; entries already created remain in your account.
Account deletion. You can delete your account and associated data from within the App. You may also request deletion by contacting us (see below).
Local reset. The App provides an option to clear your data on your device.

07 Age & eligibility

EvalEdge is intended for active-duty service members and is not offered to the general public. Because the minimum U.S. military enlistment age is 17, some users may be under 18 — but the only individuals under 18 authorized to use EvalEdge are active-duty service members. EvalEdge is not directed to, and is not intended for, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

08 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
